Synopsis
It was supposed to be a win-win situation—a safe environment in which to raise a son for single mom Vicky, housekeeping and childcare for widowed Jack. Neither one wants or expects anything more.
Then Jack learns his best friend fathered Vicky’s son and now wants partial custody, and he feels threatened. He’s come to care deeply for both, and doesn’t want to lose the family they’ve become. In desperation he offers a radical solution—marriage.
Vicky knows she can do worse than marry Jack, but wonders how successful their marriage would be when its only reason for being was to keep from losing her son. Add to this a troubled child with a secret about her dead mother and a former foe bent on revenge, and complications abound.
About Joyce DeBacco
After many years reading women’s fiction, Joyce wanted to create her own. As the mother of four grown daughters, she’s familiar with the problems women face finding love, raising children, and stepping back when necessary.
All of her books place an emphasis on love and family dynamics. She is happiest when she’s secluded in her office creating new worlds and people to populate them.
When she’s not taxing her brain with plot, structure, and grammar, she likes to sew, particularly quilts. When she really wants to rest her brain, she sprawls out in front of the TV and usually falls asleep.

What Reviewers Are Saying About DeBacco’s Books
Lynn O’Dell of Red Adept Reviews says, “At heart, this was a romance, yet the story never descends into the sappy dialogue and thought processes of a swooning nymphette. Instead, it was the story of a real woman, in a real life, who finds a real relationship that includes a few heart-fluttery moments.”
Emily L. of Single Titles says, “Joyce DeBacco writes a compelling novel that is sure to warm your heart. With complex characters and an intriguing story line, the book is difficult to put down as you are anxious to see what happens next with the characters.”
Fennel of The Long and Short of It says, “Conflict, goal, and motivation! This book has them all. Ms DeBacco’s understanding of human nature creates a heart warming story that, for me, is a ‘keeper’.”
Bobby of Bookwenches says, “Joyce DeBacco’s novel Serendipity House is a story about love, family, and perseverance set in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. If you enjoy a family-oriented style of romance that proceeds at a leisurely pace and that is populated with characters who seem like people you might know, then Serendipity House should probably be on your reading list.”

Congrats on the new novel. It sounds like a winner!
